Peptide Therapy

Personalized Peptide Therapy For Your Wellness Goals

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that naturally occur throughout the body and act as signaling molecules involved in many biological processes. Different peptides interact with different pathways, which is why peptide therapy is not one single treatment.

Depending on the specific therapy and a person’s individual medical needs, a licensed medical provider may evaluate peptide-based treatment options for goals involving body composition, metabolic health, recovery, growth-hormone pathways, sexual wellness, and other health or wellness concerns.

Through our partnered medical-provider platform, you can learn about currently available peptide options and complete a secure medical intake for provider evaluation. Jacobs Lab Services does not select or prescribe peptide therapy for patients. Treatment decisions are made by a licensed medical provider based on each patient’s medical information and eligibility.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that naturally occur in the body and act as messengers between cells. They are involved in many normal biological processes. Peptide therapy uses specific peptides to target particular pathways in the body under the direction of a licensed medical provider.

People may become interested in peptide therapy because they are experiencing changes in how they feel, recover, or function and want to learn whether a provider-directed treatment option may be appropriate for them.

What Concerns May Lead Someone to Explore Peptide Therapy?

Depending on the specific peptide available and the individual’s medical needs, a licensed provider may evaluate peptide therapy for concerns such as:

  • Difficulty recovering after physical activity

  • Changes in energy or overall vitality

  • Changes in body composition

  • Age-related changes in physical function

  • Difficulty maintaining muscle or physical performance

  • Changes in sleep or recovery

  • Certain sexual wellness concerns

  • Other provider-evaluated health or wellness goals

Peptide therapy is not one medication and is not appropriate for everyone. Different peptides have different purposes, and experiencing one of these concerns does not necessarily mean peptide therapy is the appropriate treatment.

Why Provider Evaluation Matters

Symptoms such as fatigue, changes in body composition, decreased performance, or difficulty recovering can have many possible causes. That’s why treatment should not be selected based solely on symptoms or information seen online.

Through our partnered-provider platform, a licensed medical provider reviews your health history, current medications, reported concerns, and other relevant information to determine whether an available peptide therapy is medically appropriate.

Healthy Aging & Wellness
Some people become interested in peptide therapy while looking for ways to support their health as they age. Because “anti-aging” is a broad marketing term, treatment should be based on a person’s actual medical needs rather than promises of reversing aging.

What Peptide Therapy Is NOT

Peptide therapy should not be viewed as a one-size-fits-all wellness treatment or something a patient automatically needs because of a particular symptom.

Fatigue, changes in weight, difficulty recovering, low libido, changes in body composition, and other concerns can have many different causes. A medical evaluation helps determine whether an available prescription treatment is appropriate or whether the patient’s concerns require a different approach.

Seeing a peptide promoted online also does not mean that it is appropriate, approved, or safe for every person.

What Information Does the Provider Consider?

Depending on the requested treatment, the medical provider may consider information such as:

  • Your current health concerns and treatment goals

  • Medical history

  • Current medications

  • Allergies

  • Previous treatments

  • Relevant medical conditions

  • Other information required to determine eligibility

Additional information or testing may be requested when clinically appropriate.

3. Licensed Medical Provider Evaluation
A licensed medical provider reviews your submitted information and determines whether the requested treatment is medically appropriate. The provider may request additional information when necessary. Selecting a treatment option does not guarantee that it will be prescribed.

5. Follow-Up & Ongoing Care
Follow-up requirements depend on the treatment and the patient’s individual needs. Medical questions concerning the prescription, dosing, side effects, treatment changes, or whether treatment should be continued should be addressed through the appropriate medical provider.
