Women’s Hormonal Health
Support Through Every Stage Of Hormonal Change
Hormonal changes can occur throughout a woman’s life and may affect how she feels physically, mentally, and emotionally. Changes associated with aging, perimenopause, menopause, and other hormonal shifts may contribute to symptoms involving energy, sleep, mood, sexual wellness, body composition, and overall quality of life.
Through our partnered medical-provider platform, women can explore available hormonal health treatment options and receive an individualized medical evaluation from a licensed provider. Treatment is based on your health history, symptoms, individual needs, and medical eligibility.
Jacobs Lab Services provides education and access to our partnered-provider platform. Medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment decisions, and prescription services are handled by licensed medical providers through the platform.
What Concerns May Be Related to Hormonal Changes?
Hormonal changes can affect women differently. Some women experience very few symptoms, while others notice significant changes in how they feel.
A woman may choose to speak with a medical provider about concerns such as:
-
Hot flashes — sudden feelings of heat that may include sweating or flushing.
-
Night sweats — episodes of sweating during sleep that can interfere with rest.
-
Changes in sleep — difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or feeling rested.
-
Low energy or fatigue — feeling unusually tired or noticing changes in normal energy levels.
-
Mood changes — changes in mood, irritability, or emotional well-being that may occur alongside hormonal changes.
-
Changes in sexual desire — decreased libido or noticeable changes in interest in sexual activity.
-
Vaginal dryness or discomfort — changes that may occur as estrogen levels decline, particularly during perimenopause and menopause.
-
Changes in body composition — noticing changes in where the body stores fat or difficulty maintaining previous body composition.
-
Changes in muscle mass or strength — age and hormonal changes can affect muscle and physical function.
-
Changes in skin or hair — some women notice differences in skin, hair thickness, or hair growth as hormone levels change.
-
Menstrual changes — irregular periods, changes in cycle length, or other changes that may occur during the transition toward menopause.
-
Difficulty concentrating or “brain fog” — some women report changes in concentration, memory, or mental clarity during hormonal transitions.
Having one or more of these symptoms does not automatically mean that a hormonal imbalance is the cause or that hormone therapy is appropriate. Many symptoms can have multiple causes, which is why medical evaluation is important.
Perimenopause & Menopause Support
Perimenopause is the transitional period leading up to menopause and can begin years before menstrual periods stop completely. During this time, hormone levels may fluctuate and symptoms can change from month to month.
Menopause occurs after a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period due to the natural decline in ovarian function. Some women experience symptoms that significantly affect sleep, comfort, sexual wellness, or daily life.
Through our partnered medical providers, eligible patients can discuss their symptoms and explore whether an available treatment option may be appropriate.
Hormone Therapy & Other Treatment Options
Depending on the treatments currently available through our partnered-provider platform, a licensed provider may evaluate different approaches to managing hormonal-health concerns.
Treatment is not one-size-fits-all. The appropriate option can depend on factors such as your age, symptoms, medical history, medications, reproductive history, and other health considerations.
Some women may not be appropriate candidates for certain hormone therapies. Your provider determines what treatment, if any, is medically appropriate after reviewing your information.
Why Medical Evaluation Matters
Symptoms commonly associated with hormonal changes can overlap with other health conditions. Fatigue, changes in weight, low libido, sleep problems, mood changes, and hair changes do not necessarily indicate a hormonal disorder.
Your medical provider may consider:
-
Your current symptoms and how long you’ve experienced them
-
Menstrual and reproductive history
-
Menopause or perimenopause status
-
Current medications and supplements
-
Previous hormone treatment
-
Personal and relevant family medical history
-
Other medical conditions
-
